| Shipping rates have indeed gone up dramatically over the past year or two as fuel rates have gone up. Also, certain vendors simply refuse to use USPS due to their unreliability. Sure, on a couple of gaskets, it might have been better to toss them in an envelope, but if their infrastructure isn't setup to calculate it on the online order form, worst case you could call and ask for it. The issue I have is for charging for a shipping service and then using a cheaper one instead. I was charged $12 to ship two small fittings from ATP via UPS, and they arrived USPS. I wasn't happy about being charged for the shipping, but dammit if I'm going to be charged for it, use the service and all the benefits it entails. As much quarrel with Z1's practices I've had in the past, I can't really fault them on this one.
